My 9" RES Shelly has been sleeping very oddly lately. She spends most of the evening basking on her platform, then at bedtime (10pm) the lights go out. At this time she will turn around to face the water....then she will hang her head down so that part of her face and nose are submerged in the water .She's a painted turtle Water temp is ~75 degrees Air temp is ~75 degrees Basking area (directly under the light) is 98 degrees Turtle temp (as of the pic) is 74.6 degrees. Up until somewhat recently, she would bask directly under the light but in the last couple months, she's doing it away from the light/heat source.
