Pretty easy to figure out if stator is bad or not. 1) Check voltage of battery prior to startup (should be 12v). 2) Start bike. 3) Check voltage while bike is running, should at least reach above 13v, and increase with rev's increase.

ibew112 You test each contact (2 on yours right?) individually from the stator to ground. You should get infinite resistance as if you were holding the 2 leads in the air. If you get any reading, the stator has an issue. the ground (like I mentioned) comes off the voltage regulator to the frame. You should just check for a clean, tight connection.
