So I saw this guy had successfully made an adaptor plate for the bell housing and an adaptor plate to use the 1UZ flywheel to a BMW clutch plate etc. He used a Getrag 260 5 speed. I'm thinking of going down this road for my car over winter, rather than use an overpriced Toyota gearbox and parts.Getrag 280 & 265 History and Design. The 280 Getrag was used in all first generation M5/M6 & M635 (Euro) models that used the S38/B35&B36 and S88 (Euro) engines. The Getrag 280 can best be described as a hybrid of a Getrag 260 and 265 transmission. The front and back transmission case sections come from a later 260.540/6, Chevy truck. According to the BMW fluids service manual, using any fluid other than the OEM approved type and brand can cause failures and premature problems. BMW goes into detail when it comes to trans fluids. Getrag spent a lot of time testing to determine what fluids are approved.

The F1 clutch is also a little weak for the s52. I think your 260 bell housing is large enough for the M3 clutch why not go with that it's bound to be better as it's designed for the power.
