As for removing it, it is an SB Tactical SBA3 brace. Just pull down on the adjustment lever (as opposed to pressing it up to adjust the brace) and pull the brace off the buffer tube. The AC556 is the same as the Mini 14 except for the full auto parts and the barrel has a bayonet lug and a flash hider like the GB model. The AC556F model has a folding stock and a 13" barrel and no bayonet lug.
