I need to service the changer.Jan 5, 2011 · If it says Magnificent Magnavox then you have a tube unit. If it says Astro-Sonic then you are looking at solid state. Now there are some suttle turntable changes though the years, and that is what I normally use to date. Also Magnavox would use different turntable styles to show if it was a delux model or not. Magnavox started big time on the "ASTRO-SONIC" and MAGNA-SONIC lines for the '63 Model year. Model years back then went Sept. to Sept. just like cars did. Probably still do, to beat the Christmas rush.
