New User. Mar 20, 2017. #1. I have a John Deere 4020 Diesel that developed a miss. The first step to cure miss was to remove the pencil injectors and have them tested. All cracked/popped adequately, however, 2 of the injectors test pattern was not real good if pressure was added slowly so I replaced them. This did not cure the miss.The super 4020 title was a very accurate on for them. 18.4x38 tires are probably the most common size for them. The power difference between them and a 4020 is very noticeable. Without a turbo a 4020 will usually smoke very heavy once you push it to around 110 hp. Now the brakes are totally locked up. The tractor won't move. But if I open the bleed screws, it will move.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE A PISTON HANGING UP OR A LEAKING INTAKE OR EX-VALVE IN THE PUMP. A, 1965 cockshutt 40, I have a 4020 that ran really well up until November. It starts good , but idles rough and when you put it under load it stalls. If you pull the choke out it will come back to life and run OK. if you feather the choke back in, it will drive around OK in lower gear. Dec 1, 2017 · disconnect all the lines & linkages.. remove the side cover on the pump, 2 flat head screws, drain.. 2 lines under the side cover, 1 is stationary & 1 rotates.. rotate engine until BOTH lines line-up & stop.. Now remove the 2 or 3 nuts holding the pump down & pull up.. DONE. West Central Iowa. If the sump screen was "completely plugged" you need to pull the final drives, repair the brakes and clean the rear end housing out and THEN start to sort out your hydraulic problems. Your problem may be caused by foreign material in the pump stroke control valve & the screen in the stroke control valve housing.

Sounds like the battery is hooked up correctly. Now to wire gauge the positve goes to ground on the tractor. The negative should go to the wire that is connected to ignition switch.
